Huge congrats to our guys on last weekends "Grapplers Quest" tournament!
Jason Spallek took 1st on the Heavy Weight Gi
division and 2nd on the Heavy Weight No-Gi
division.
In the Feather Weight Gi division Anthony Gutierrez
Finished all his opponents in under two minutes all
the way to the finals were he faced a VERY game
opponent. Anthony finished 2nd in a very exiting fight.
Miah had to endure 15 HOURS sitting around waiting for his match to get started!!!
After submitting his first opponent he was given less than 2 minutes to rest
before
fighting
a fresh opponent. He made a great effort to fight a hard as he could but the "no
rest" period he was given between fights was to much and he ended up loosing
his quarter finals
match.
As usual all of our guys fought their harts out and made our school proud of
them.
Also, we'll like to thank Michael Selinfreund, "Gi Joe" Pasko and Van
for their support to get our boys out to Vegas!!!

BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU COMPETITION TEAM:
1st Place - 2005 Zingano BJJ Invitational Tournament
1st Place - 2006 U.S. National Cup
1st Place - 2006 Top of the Rockies Grappling Championships
1st Place - 2006 Colorado State Jiu Jitsu Championships
1st Place - 2006 Vision Quest Grappling Tournament
2006 Undefeated Team
At Zingano BJJ, you’ll learn the most
effective form of self defense in world today. Classes are taught by
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial
Arts champion, Mauricio Zingano.
We have a commitment to provide you with the best instruction of Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu in Colorado. At Zingano BJJ, we understand that you have a choice
when it comes to a Martial Arts school and we appreciate your business, therefore
we’ll do all that we can do to provide you with only the best instruction
in town.
Why BJJ?
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the only Martial Art system
that has been proven effective in the real world over and
over again for the past 80 years. Most Martial Arts claim
to be the best but have never really been put to the test.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been pitted and has defeated every
other Martial Art style in the world and producing the same
results every time. No other martial art style can make the
same claims.
Take for example when Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was first introduced
in America, a man named Royce Gracie, who only weighted 176
pounds, defeated in one night
three larger and stronger opponents. This Pay-Per-View event titled "Ultimate
Fighting Championships" featured Gracie competing against Art Jimmerson
196 lbs professional boxer, Ken Shamrock 235 lbs Shoot Fighting and Wrestling
Champion and Gerard Gordeau 216lbs Kick Boxing and Savate Champion) using the
techniques of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. UFC is where different styles of Martial
Arts wore pitted against each other using the minimal of rules; no biting,
no eye gouging, no time limits and no weight classes; everything else was permitted.

90% of all fights end up a clinch and eventually on the ground?
That’s right! Traditional Martial Arts that have their main
focus on punching and kicking and do not address ground fighting
at all, or they have
very limited knowledge of it, makes them very vulnerable and inefficient in
a real fighting situation.
Keep in mind that you’re only an arms length away of being in a clinch
and taken down to the ground. In boxing for example you’ll notice the
countless times when the fighters end up in a clinch and the referee has to
break them up. There are no referee’s in the street to break up the fight
after the clinch to save your skin. If you don’t back yourself up with
the best ground fighting techniques in the world, you’ll be left with
luck on your side, not skill. So are you still confident that you’ll
be “lucky” enough when it really matters?
Is it for me? I have a Black Belt in other styles of Martial
Arts.
Absolutely! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is for everyone. Beginners
with no Martial Arts experience and veterans of other styles are more
than welcome to
join us! As a matter of fact, most Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners
have had some experience with other Martial Arts.
BJJ and
kids
